Here you can find out more about the Scientific and Clinical Advances Advisory Committee (SCAAC) as well as read through previous meeting minutes and papers.

What is SCAAC?

The Scientific and Clinical Advances Advisory Committee (SCAAC) is a subcommittee of the Authority. It meets three times a year to consider advances in science and clinical practice which are relevant to the Authority's work. It also makes decisions regarding authorised processes which are the processes clinics can use to carry out the licensable activities set out in the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act 1990 (as amended). The committee is appointed from members of the Authority (including a proportion of lay members) and some co-opted members.

See the list of SCAAC members.
