Rachel Cutting MBE has been appointed our new Director of Compliance and Information

We are pleased to announce that Rachel Cutting MBE has been appointed as our new Director of Compliance and Information. Rachel will begin with us on 11 November 2019.

Peter Thompson, Chief Executive, said, "Rachel has worked in the IVF sector for over 20 years. Rachel is currently the person responsible and principle embryologist of Jessop Fertility at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. She was previously Chair of the Association of Clinical Embryologists and was awarded an MBE in 2015 for services to infertility. Rachel is also a Board member of the HFEA, a role she will step down from when she takes up her role as Director of Compliance and Information.

The Director of Compliance and Information is a key role for the HFEA. Rachel’s appointment confirms what I believe has been the direction of travel at the HFEA for some time: although we will always put the patient first, we want, wherever possible, to regulate in a way which recognises the operational complexities that clinics face. I know that Rachel will bring that expert operational knowledge to our work over the coming years."
